If your dishwasher has ever gone on the fritz, as ours did over the weekend, you may have learned the importance of one-pan recipes. Not to say that we don't want to wash dishes, but let's get out of there as quickly as possible, right? In our recent unpleasantness, a new recipe was discovered. Instead of 2 or 3 pans, let's throw that spaghetti and sauce and everything in between into one pan and get it over with!
BROKEN SPAGHETTI
1 lb ground beef
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 c onion, minced
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
4 c beef broth
2 c prepared spaghetti sauce
8 oz broken spaghetti
2 tsp shaved Parmesan cheese
Brown ground beef with garlic, onion, and spices. Drain. Stir in broth and spaghetti sauce; bring to a boil. Add broken spaghetti, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat; simmer, covered 20 minutes. Add Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
There! To borrow a phrase from the indomitable Rachael Ray, "Easy-peasy!"
