In 1978, teenager Angie Sullivan went missing. When her body was found, the girl who had been bullying her, Cheryl Smith, was the prime suspect. When Cheryl left town, everyone assumed it was an admission of guilt. When a mummified body is found over 30 years later, the case is reopened by Pennsylvania State Police homicide detective Cameron Gates and her lover, Hancock County Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Thornton.
This is the first in a new series by Lauren Carr, author of the Mac Faraday Mysteries series. While the characters were not quite as solid as Mac and his friends, the mystery was interesting, and I'm sure the characters will "gel" as the series grows. I look forward to reading further installments in the series and seeing how the relationship between Cameron and Joshua evolves.
